In this webinar, Dr John Alchin will provide an overview of selected articles published in medical and scientific journals over the past three months, focusing primarily on chronic pain, with some discussion of acute pain. Topics will include developments in pain pharmacology - including cannabinoids, opioids, and emerging analgesics - alongside advances in our understanding of pain physiology and a range of broader issues relevant to contemporary pain management.

John Alchin, FFPMANZCA retired from clinical practice at the Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, where he had worked as a consultant since 1998. He still teaches in the Dept of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Otago, Christchurch.
