Arliah Davis
Arliah Davis is an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Pain with a strong clinical and strategic focus on culturally responsive, equitable, and accessible pain services. Arliah is currently based in Mangawhai and works within TBI Health as a Clinical Advisor, Senior Pain and MSK Physiotherapist, and Orthopaedic Triage Clinician. Her role is varied and sees her split her time across clinical practice, supervision and mentoring, pathway and service development, education, and research.
Arliah has been practising as a physiotherapist for 13 years, with the past 10–11 years focused predominantly on pain management within the private sector. This interest developed while working alongside Daniel Harvey at Sports & Spinal and led her to complete her postgraduate training in acupuncture and a master’s degree at AUT. Following this, Arliah worked across MSK and pain services in the UK before returning to Aotearoa, where she held Senior Pain and MSK roles with Sports & Spinal and now TBI Health. Over the past 2.5 years, Arliah has also worked in management—experience that has strengthened her systems and leadership lens—before intentionally transitioning back into advisory and strategic work within the pain space. Alongside this, Arliah works within an orthopaedic triage service in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons, helping to reduce wait times and improve timely access to high-quality, evidence-based care for musculoskeletal conditions. Arliah pursued the Advanced Practice Physiotherapy scope after identifying significant gaps in pain service delivery within Te Tai Tokerau. This role provides an opportunity to drive meaningful and culturally responsive change, improve access and outcomes, and strengthen services for our whānau.
